Here is the body of our next mural project, a

BOSS HOSS Trike Body & Parts

"BOSS HOSS V8 TRIKE BHC-9 ZZ4 / SIERRA TRUCK"
Ya, it's a mouth full... but so is this trike... at least it will be...
It sits here as I received it, black base coat with a rough "knock down" finish just to remove
any major bumps and dust, but it's not ready for graphics until it's completely color sanded.
 

Here's a picture of the rear of the body.
The left side has been color sanded with 1200 grit
the right side, yet undone, shows the difference color sanding makes. 

Not to be photographically redundant, but the other parts, the tank, front fender, dash, wing, cover
and radiator shroud were also prepped in the fashion.
So lets dig in... Bible in one hand and airbrush in the other as this black canvass becomes
the background for The Book of Revelation.... no easy task, but hey, ATAPTCTSM...

Here is the left side tank from black base through it's progression.

    1. All the art is sketched out with a grey base...

    2. Once it is roughed in, I added a lighter grey, white and black for clean up.

    3. I then start adding a Molly Orange where the fire and glow will be
        as well as bringing some of the color into the sky and lighting.
        Kandy Tangerine was then introduced over the Molly.

    4. Next, I further brightened it by adding Chrome Yellow, White and Pagan Gold.
        Then going back and cleaning up with Kandy Root Beer and Black.

    5. This is the finished left side of the tank, shown with out clear coat.

    1. This is the preliminary sketch for the Four Horsemen on the right side tank.
        Light grey over black.

    2. Second and half of the third layer... black full sketch and light grey again to start the
        highlights.

    3. Tighter art with black and white low and high lights.

    4. Tangerine, Apple and Pagan Gold Kandy were put over the grey background.
        The horses and riders were also filled in with the above Kandies as well as
        Burple & Root Beer Kandy.

    5. Here is the finished tank top view... see anything extra?

     1. Here's the starting lay out of the piece on the trunk cover.


     2. The finished rough sketch. Again, sketched out with grey.

    
     3. After the rough sketch and fill in, I go in with black to define the area further
         in the positive.


     4. I then bring in a light grey (about a 20%) and start working toward the foreground.
         Keeping in mind the light source which in this case will be directly behind
         as well as above.


     5. A close-up of the Archangel with staged detail.


     6. I then bring in the white to be used very strategically with the light source.
         Also adding in the light source behind the Archangel.


     7. This is a before and after shot of "the bad guy" the bottom pic has the
         color added obviously which started with Kandy Tangerine toped with
        Kandy Apple, highlighted with white and gone over all with
        Kandy Pagan Gold... (a fitting color).
 

     8. Here's the Archangel in color. Kandy Cobalt Blue, Spanish Gold
         and Kandy Root Beer.


     9. I added the light source behind the Archangel. Basically, representing
         the Glory of God, the Power and the Presence in which the angel is sent.


    10. Here once again, Satan being bound with the "Great Chain" from Revelation 20:1
         and being cast into the bottomless pit.


    11. This is the finished piece, so far. As I look at it through the rest of the project,
         I might add to it or alter it mildly if need be, to fit with the rest of the mural.
         But I like it as it stands shown here.

I added Cobalt Blue Kandy on the outside of the light ring (hard to pick up in the photo)
(Also the angle the photos are on, is on account of the glare from the flash)

Trunk Cover Art: REVELATION 20:1
"And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key
of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent,
which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up,
and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more,
till the thousand years should be fulfilled:
and after that he must be loosed a little season".
 

Boss Hoss Front Fender Art

The front fender is the introduction to the entire bike so we decided to start it all off
with the crucifixion scene, not a common style, but a up-close, personal & emotional connection to the most important moment in time.

Done with grey tone bases and Kandys.
The pics below show the entire fender with the secondary aspect to the introduction being the broken seals from Revelation 5,6,7,8 which usher in the pictorials
which will be on the body of the trike.
The seals have the Alpha and Omega images on them, I'll get a close-up of one asap.
Lastly the origin of the fire which will continue from the front fender, to the radiator shroud
and up onto the body. The full 10 stage Real Fire application Base coat and Kandys.

Fire in the bible stands for either judgment and or holiness.
(Check out Matt. 25:41, 2Peter 5:10, Ex 3:2, Heb 12:29.)
 

Boss Hoss Shroud Art

  

This is the radiator shroud with the real fire applied
which will continue up onto the base of the body of the trike.

Boss Hoss Wing Art

The spoiler has the saying "End Times" (the customers name for the trike)
applied using H.O.K. Galaxy Grey, so it will have
a really awesome sparkle in the sun without being too bright.

The wing alone looks kind of bland compared to the rest of the artwork, but, considering it's placement when mounted, I decided to use a grey as to not distract from the artwork
on the top of the trunk cover.

(Keep in mind most work on this page is without clear coat)

Onto the right side body, finally!
The sketching and colorizing process will be the same as all above.

The right side is going to have from front to back so far:
A scroll with scripture (Rev 5:1), real fire in the front and up and out from under the seats,
following back along the top of the rear wheel fenders to the back. (Rev 16:8)
The furnace/pit's smoke (Rev 9:2) and demonic locust (Rev 9:3) flowing into the unattainable lust for death (Rev 9:6),
the mark of the beast (Rev 13:16), flowing into the Earth being hit by Wormwood (Rev 8:11), overshadowed by the sun
turning black as sack cloth (Rev 6:12), into the fifth angel blowing his horn (Rev 9:1),
going back to the two witnesses (Rev 11:3), the moon turning to blood (Rev 6:12), a erupting volcano with lava flow (Psalm 46:6),
a hail/brimstone shower (Rev 16:21), a river of blood (Rev 14:20) and one of the three demonic frogs (Rev 16:13) ...

............ Easy right ............
